Our mission:

To provide an intellectual community for both parent and child through a classical education in a hands-on environment, thereby creating the democratic citizens of tomorrow, today.

The New Classical Academy is now accepting applications for the fall 2010 school year. We have space in the K-2 class and very limited availability in grades 3-8. If you would like to visit the school for a tour, or if you would like us to send you a registration packet, please call us at 658-8317 or send us an email.

Are you on facebook? If you like what you see here, visit our business page and become a fan! More photos, stories, and even videos are available.

Our educational philosophy recognizes that children need time for both work and play. In the morning, students are in multi-grade classrooms working alone, or in small groups on individualized assignments. At noon, students have a full hour for lunch and outside play. In the afternoon, students of all ages choose from a variety of activities including science experiments, drama, cooking, big group outdoor games, hand-crafts, art, study hall and more. The New Classical Academy offers children a safe, happy and balanced environment, and our school is truly a joyful place to watch our students learn and grow.

The New Classical Academy is located just seven miles north of Asheville in the beautiful small town of Weaverville. Weaverville features a main street of locally owned shops and eateries, a large park with a lake and playground, and friendly neighborhood streets where children ride their bikes and people walk their dogs. If you are considering a move to Asheville, we suggest you look at Weaverville. The drive to downtown Asheville is easy, so living in Weaverville gives you small town life near a fantastic city.

The New Classical Academy is a non-profit corporation in the state of North Carolina. The school is run by a volunteer Board of Directors. If you are interested in serving on the board or would like more information, please contact the director of the school at: director@thenewclassicalacademy.org.
