Enrollment Begins

Our first open enrollment period is over, and we are now more than half full for next year. The home school enrichment class has just two spaces left, and the distance learning program is filling up fast, so call or email today to receive your registration packet. If you would like to enroll before the next open house, please call us to schedule a private visit: 242-4822.

Second Open House

The second open house is on Tuesday, March 7, from 5 - 8 pm at the Christ United Methodist Church. Kate and Kelly will give a presentation and answer questions at 6:30. We are looking forward to meeting the many people that missed the first open house and have contacted us since then. If you know someone that you think would benefit from our school, please invite them to come.

Space Search is On

The search for the school location for next year has begun in earnest. Kelly will be presenting a proposal to lease the club house at Lake Louise in Weaverville on February 20 at the Weaverville Town Council Meeting which begins at 7 pm. Please attend the meeting and give Kelly your support if you are free that evening. If you know of anyone that has land, a home, or a commercial space that may meet our needs, please give us a call. Our ideal space has about 2500 square feet, ample safe outdoor space for play, and parking.

Friday Class News

The home school enrichment class has been studying Jamestown and the effect the English had on the native tribes of Virginia. The students built a beautiful recreation of the Jamestown fort, and a village of authentic Native American homes to go with it. The fourth graders have been enjoying reading "The Hound of the Baskervilles" and all of the younger students have been trying their hand at crime scene science by taking fingerprints and foot prints and even lip prints!
